How do we humans, individuals, relate to the architectural rectilinear surroundings? What is or can be expressed of one's personality at the facade? Can it be more than names next to doorbells, blinds behind the window? Which purpose would it have to an architect? In creating a controlled shape of patterning which organizes public space? What is exceptable or even desired in public space, how would it serve public space? What is considered discreet, and indiscrete?

In 2011 housing corporation 'de Kombinatie' Zeist, owner of the L-flat as a superstructure for housing from the 60's, followed and cooperated in a plan by the architectural office ANA architects with Vinke as the main architect in the project. The plan involves the eight main disclosures, entrance halls from the street outside, leaning passage via staircases and elevators to the stretchy window galleries with frontdoors to the privacy of the apartments. And vice versa. The entrance halls so function right between public and private spaces.

The contours for a design of eight tile walls for the entrances follow the environment of the building coloristically. Color is used instrumentally as the imaging of the environment of this building is translated to tile-size picture-elements. While the building is in itself already an urban structure, nothing much remindful of urban environments can be found, being located in one of the most green urban area's of the Netherlands. The extense of this coloration can be found in the four main glazes used in the design of the architect, next to one white and a three differing colors for each entrance. In junction, the second element comes from inside this building, as inhabitants who's portraits mingle everywhere into the green of the laid-out design. A superimposed halftone pattern in greens and ochre both camouflages their portrait within the design and characterizes their individuality.
